Guests: Sponsorships are they worth it?
Posted on May 18th, 2010, by Brandon
We just posted last weekends show. I brought on a couple of our paying sponsors and a past main sponsor of the show. This show is something that I feel in my heart that is unique and we all need for our business community. I love talking business, whether its good stuff or bad stuff, I like to listen, and I like to share. Putting this show together is fun, I enjoy it, its a challenge, I’m not a radio guy natural, I’ve had to work on my speech, tonality, my content and at the same time bring on guest’s that are nervous, get them comfortable, keep the conversation stimulating, and give what I think the listeners want. Sometimes we have bloopers, we repeat what we say, it doesn’t always come out the way we want, and we stumble over our words but its raw and real. I appreciate all my sponsors, the ones that used to advertise with me and the ones that still do. I don’t want to spend my time trying to sell advertising, but I do need the sponsors to help pay for the show. I have costs to produce the show, the website, the maintenance, a project manager, and any other misc items to go along with the business side of Wright Stuff Radio. All my sponsors with the exception of one (which is highly recommended by many) is someone that I use for personal or business use. This allows me to plug them in a way that I can give you intimate details about the quality of their business. Just like UltraClean as exciting as it is with what we do, I don’t think people really care unless they need it. But I do think that if I told you something about the inside of the business, or a story about the business, or a customer etc, that you would be more apt to listen. That’s the way I want to portray my sponsors by giving you the inside of the truly great companies that they are. Here is a few things that I’ve done to help promote the sponsors, I give them a one minute plug or live read on every show (instead of the commercials like we used to), they have a logo which clicks to their website with a 60 second commercial on the sponsor page of the website, we will have a video posted there as well soon when I get it finished with me interviewing them (and maybe one of their clients), they come on the show and tell their story, they can have their clients come on and give a testimony, they can refer someone to the show (like a client), them getting someone on the show isn’t something you can give any client it really is a way of showing appreciation for the relationship you have, and of course you get to be involved in all the creative unique events that I create. I have more events that we have in planning that is all based around Wright Stuff Radio. Right now we are charging $40 a show for sponsorship. The main sponsor which pays $200 a show get a two minute commercial each week, plus a tip section of the week soon to be on the website, with 2 commercials produced, front page of the website with a logo click straight to their website. The main sponsor gets all the benefits above that the normal sponsor gets as well. Now I am going to ask for two things from you, if you have any feedback on how to make the sponsorships more valuable with my main intent is for my sponsors to get business from the show, real $, then give me the feedback. Second, if you know someone who you think would be a great sponsor for the show, pass them on to me. Thanks for being a part of Wright Stuff Radio and get involved, I want people’s feedback, and I want those that help the show to be helped in return, if you think of a way for us to help drive business to our sponsors let me know. Email me at brandonw@ultracleanpro.com
