The key to successfully implementing a time management strategy with technology is proper training and having a backup for your information.

Be prepared to prioritize ruthlessly as a small business owner. If you have a team of employees, delegate tasks that don’t need your attention immediately. This will help to build your employee’s experience while taking something off your plate. If you’re a sole proprietor, clearly define your goals for the day – and limit them. Give yourself one to three things that you must complete that day. This will help you focus your energy and actually see tasks through to completion as opposed to chasing your tail.

Communication within your team, with your customers, and with your vendors will also greatly impact your efficiency. If you don’t have an effective communication strategy, tasks won’t be completed properly, orders can be missed, and it will take more time to finish projects. Establishing a consistent communication procedure for common situations will help you streamline your processes for yourself and your team.
